A gift to support financial aid and scholarships makes a difference! Here are a few examples of how the Music Institute has used your support:

Because of you…

A recently arrived student from Ukraine takes piano classes at one of our campuses. Despite the tumult of leaving a parent behind and trying to adjust to a new country, this child has the stability a familiar routine of practice provides, the comfort of a teacher’s individualized support, and the ability to express himself by making music. Although the challenges experienced by this family are great, paying tuition for lessons is not among them. This young person received a full scholarship thanks to gifts from people like you.

Because of you…

MIC launched its Third Coast Suzuki cello program at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in south Evanston last year, and this year alone, the program is on track to double its enrollment. Two bilingual teachers, professionally trained in Suzuki methodology are working with 45 students ages 4 to 10. In the first weeks of lessons they learned about the importance of family involvement, establishing daily habits for practice and listening, building focus and physical endurance, learning respect for the instruments, building a community of students and parents, and their first songs. Thanks to gifts from people like you and William Harris Lee & Company, their tuition and instrument rental are free!

These are just a few stories of how the Music Institute has used the power of music to positively impact our community.  Help us continue this work by supporting Families in Concert today!
